Human Rights

Human rights are defined by the United Nations as “rights inherent in every human being, regardless of race, gender, nationality, ethnicity, language, religion, or any other status. According to the United Nations, human rights include the right to life, liberty, freedom from slavery, freedom of opinion and expression, and the right to work and education. Every person is entitled to these rights without discrimination.

Among the five basic human rights as outlined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights:

1. the right to life, liberty, and personal security
2. the right to freedom from torture, cruel, inhumane, or degrading treatment or punishment;
3. the right to equality before the law;
4. the right to freedom of thought, conscience, and religion; and
5. the right to work and education.

The goal of human rights lawyers is to protect and enforce human rights, representing individuals and groups who have suffered violations of their rights.

Our team’s work often involves collaboration with non-governmental organizations, government agencies, and international institutions, as well as litigation, policy development, and research.

Human rights violations are primarily caused by oppressive or discriminatory governmental policies, social inequalities, and conflicts. Human rights violations can be committed by a variety of actors, including governments, private individuals, corporations, and armed groups. Other entities can also be held responsible for their actions if they violate individual rights, although human rights laws primarily target governments.

Due to the nature of our job, our human rights lawyers work with various tasks such as drafting legal documents, searching for legal precedents cases, conducting a thorough legal analysis, involving the best forensic experts, conducting a fact-finding investigation, and gathering as much evidence as possible of human rights violations at all levels, arguing human rights cases in court, etc.
